Rebecca Carmack serves as Director of Music at Lincoln Trail College, directing choirs, and teaching music theory, music appreciation, and applied voice.
Rebecca holds a bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in Music Theory and Composition and a master’s degree in choral and orchestral conducting from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Prior to coming to LTC, she also operated a private voice and piano studio and taught 5th through 12th grade band.
While at Eastern, Rebecca gained experience working with many of the university’s ensembles including Eastern Symphonic Orchestra (ESO), the Concert Choir, and the early music ensemble, Camerata. Among the works she conducted are Tomas Luis de Victoria’s Ave Maria, Kevin A. Memley’s O My Luve’s Like a Red, Red Rose, and Franz Doppler’s Fantasie Pastorale Hongrois Flute Concerto. Rebecca was also a featured soloist with the ESO for major works such as the “Pie Jesu” from Faure’s Requiem and “Rejoice, Greatly” from Handel’s Messiah.
