The Lincoln Trail College Concert Choir, under the direction of Rebecca Carmack, will be joining the Eastern Illinois University Choral Ensembles and Symphony Orchestra to perform the program “A Musical Journey Through Time,” April 23 at 4 p.m. at the Doudna Fine Arts Center on EIU’s campus in Charleston, Illinois.
Among the pieces Concert Choir will be performing is “When Music Sounds,” composed by Dr. Richard Robert Rossi, Director of Choral and Orchestral Activities at Eastern Illinois University.
For Carmack, this concert presents a chance to return to EIU where she earned her master’s degree in Choral and Orchestral Conducting. “I’m thrilled to take the Concert Choir to Dvorak Stage to work under my mentor, Dr. Rossi. This experience provides the unique opportunity, not only to sing with an ensemble numbering in the hundreds, but to share the stage with a symphony orchestra.”
Tickets for the event are $13 and are available online at www.eiu.edu/doudna or can be purchased by calling the box office at (217) 581-3110 Tuesday through Thursday from 12-5 p.m. and Friday 12-2 p.m.
